Troubleshooting
Cannot sign in, or the code never arrives.
Optaxis signs you in with an email code (valid for 10 minutes) or with Sign in with Apple. Check that the email address is spelled correctly, look in the spam folder, and make sure the device is online. If the code still does not arrive after a few minutes, request a new one.
Photo upload fails or stalls.
Optaxis accepts HEIC and JPG up to 80 MB per photo and keeps the original file. TIFF and camera RAW files are not accepted directly; export to HEIC or JPG first. On an unstable network, retry on a stronger connection.
Weather or sky data is missing.
Weather, sunrise, tide and astronomy tools need location permission and an internet connection. Forecast data comes from public weather services; the further a date is from today, the coarser the forecast.
AR overlays or the compass point the wrong way.
Calibrate the phone compass by moving the device in a figure-8 motion, and keep it away from magnets, tripod heads with strong magnets and metal railings. Any residual offset can be fine-tuned inside the viewfinder.
A purchase is not recognized.
On the membership page tap Restore Purchases, or sign out and back in. If it is still not recognized, email us with the purchase receipt and we will reconcile it by hand.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app go to Me → Settings → Delete account. The account and the cloud data linked to it are removed. You can also email us from the address registered to the account and we will process it for you.
